Marshmallows

I am not sure about you, but I have been seeing marshmallows everywhere, I think they may be the next big hit! It has been a couple years since I have had the time to test out a new recipe and I figured it would be fun to try out Zoe Bakes marshmallow recipe.

First off, it was great to see that she uses gelatin and not egg whites. From personal experience, it is easier to work with gelatin when making marshmallows. Personally, I did not have any gelatin sheets on hand so I used powdered gelatin and I did not see a difference! It worked great, plus powdered gelatin is easily accessible at most grocery stores.

When working with sugar, it is super important to pay attention to the temperature of it during the heating process. If it is under or over the recommended temperature, it can result in your marshmallows not fluffing up properly.

These little guys are super versatile when it comes to flavor! They can take on almost any flavor you give them. But be careful to not put in too much of a liquid flavor, like strawberry puree (speaking from experience…).
